This quick guide outlines our part in prayer to God. [adapted from changinglives.org - Gregory Dickow Ministries]

1. Getting your inheritance from God is as important to Him as it is to you.

• Acts 26:17-18 -- rescuing you from the Jewish people and from the Gentiles, to whom I am sending you, to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the dominion of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me.'

2.  Be specific when you ask God for the things you need and desire.  

• John 16:24 -- Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full.
•  James 4:2b -- You do not have because you do not ask.

3. But ask for the right things for the right reasons.

• James 4:3 -- You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.
• 1 John 5:14 -- This is )the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.

4. Believe your prayer is answered the moment you ask, no matter what you see or feel.

• Mark 11:24 -- "Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you."
• 2 Corinthians 5:7 -- for we walk by faith, not by sight
