Our purpose is: To glorify God through loving, faithful obedience to Christ's
commands!
John 14:15
If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.
Matthew 22:34-40
But when the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered
themselves together. One of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him.
"Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?" And He said
to him, "'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART,
AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.' This is the great and foremost
commandment. The second is like it, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.'
On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets."
Matthew 28:18-20
And Jesus came up and spoke to them saying, "All authority has
been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to
the end of the age."
Hebrews 5:9
And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the
source of eternal salvation.
Our vision includes a community of Christians united in sincere love for God and for
others which includes:
(1) Active participation in biblical worship, in spiritual service and in genuinely
caring for one another.
Hebrews 10:23-25
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is
faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not
forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one
another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
Joshua 24:15
If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for
yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served
which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but
as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
Acts 2:42
They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to
fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
(2) An ever growing relationship to the Lord Jesus through His Word that actively
involves every facet of our lives.
Romans 12:1-2
Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and
holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.
Acts 2:43-46
Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through
the apostles. And all those who had believed, were together and had all things in
common; and they began selling their property and possessions, and were sharing them with
all, as anyone might have need. Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple,
and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with
gladness and sincerity of heart,
Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
(3) Living out the Gospel in compassion and love, while actively meeting the spiritual,
emotional, and physical needs of people around us.
Matthew 5:14-16
You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be
hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and
it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such
a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
(4) Actively using the abilities, talents, and gifts God has given us to His glory.
Ephesians 4:11-16
And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as
pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the
building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of
the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which
belongs to the fullness of Christ. As a result, we are no longer to be children,
tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the
trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; but speaking the truth in love, we
are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole
body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper
working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of
itself in love.
Matthew 25:14-21
For it is just like a man about to go on a journey,
who called his own slaves and entrusted his possessions to them. To one he gave five
talents, to another, two, and to another, one, each according to the own ability; and he
went on his journey. Immediately the one who had received the five talents went and
traded with them, and gained five more talents. In the same manner the one who had
received the two talents gained two more. But he who received the one talent were
away, and dug a hole in th ground and hid his master's money. Now after a long time
the master of those slaves came and settled accounts with them. The one who had
received the five talents came up and brought five more talents, saying 'Master, you
entrusted five talents to me. See, I have gained five more talents.' His
master said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a
few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.'
(5) Seeking and winning lost people around us to an active saving relationship with
Jesus Christ.
Luke 16:15-16
And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. He who
has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be
condemned."
Romans 10:9
that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God
raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
Acts 2:38
Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name
of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the
Holy Spirit."
Acts 2:47
praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their
number day by day those who were being saved.
Galatians 3:26-27
For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For all
of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourself with Christ.
