ACM International

First in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, then in Tanzania, Bob and Dawn Baird have been missionaries with ACM International since November, 1981. After five years at home resettling children and furthering education, they are currently raising support to return to Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania. Bob's work will include the following: Teaching seminars in personal spiritual growth and in church doctrine; translating resource Bible study material into Swahili; and helping the church in Dar-es-Salaam as it works with new congregations. Dawn's work will include teaching English, HIV Prevention instruction and running a guesthouse for out-station missionaries.

Lord willing, they will be leaving for Tanzania the first of next year. Meanwhile, they are part of a team traveling to Bukavu, Congo, for four weeks in September and October where they will assist in researching the establishment of a branch of Nations University, a theological school which is headquartered in Louisiana and is conducted largely over the Internet. While Bob is busy preaching and leading seminars, Dawn's part of this project will be to set up an English Second Language school since classes at Nations U are taught in English.
