Marks Of Grace

Marks of Grace

Marks of Grace is an umbrella of women’s ministries. The idea for our group name and our group’s focus comes from Hebrews 13:16, "Do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased." We try to be a service-oriented group looking to incorporate current areas of service within the church and adding new plans or areas of service as needed. We also hope to be a source of encouragement and support to the women within our church and an outreach to those outside our church.

Currently our areas of service include:

  1. taking meals to people after surgery or new baby,
  2. baby showers for member mothers,
  3. new baby recognition,
  4. kitchen committee to stock and organize the kitchen,
  5. funeral dinner preparation,
  6. birthday cakes for nursing home residents,
  7. goodie baskets for seasonal or special occasions,
  8. communion preparation
  9. food pantry (under the direction of the Missions/Evangelism committee),
  10. card and/or calling program, and
  11. scheduling women’s retreats and/or conferences.

We have monthly meetings, held on the third Tuesday at 9:30 AM and 7:00 PM. This way at-home women and women who work outside the home both have an opportunity to participate. At our meetings we have a prayer/praise time, a lesson time and then a short business time. We also take up an offering at each meeting to support a missionary or ministry of the group’s choosing. We have been currently supporting a church plant effort (Emmaus (formerly Operation Rochester) in Rochester NY, which involves one of the young women raised in our church here at LeRoy. Three times a year we have a joint meeting to bring the AM and PM groups together for a time of fun and fellowship.

We hope this provides you with an overview of what we are all about and would like to invite you to come and join us at our next meeting. If you have any additional questions, you can contact Vicki Gnagey at 962-3407. Hope to see you soon!
